Photography has been a passion of Ginger Zolynsky's since age 15 when she took photography as a high school elective class in Romulus, Michigan. She continued to study photography at college receiving a degree in Photographic Technology. While attending college she also spent time teaching photography as part-time teacher's assistant for high school students with special needs & also several Adult Education classes in photography. She worked full-time as a photographer for a
research institute in Ann Arbor, MI for almost 14 years, shooting everything from Board of Directors photos, to circuit boards, radar equipment, aerial photography, etc. as well as years of darkroom
experience with black & white and color processing of all formats including large satellite imagery prints, before moving with her husband & young children to Madison, AL in mid-1997. Upon arriving in
North Alabama, Ginger worked for a local engineering firm as an Audio-Visual Technician, as well as doing freelance Advertising Photography for the Huntsville Times for many years along with an occasional wedding, family portrait session, senior photos, etc. In 2001, Ginger took an opportunity to become a Small Business Owner when she purchased Southern Wake-Up Espresso on Redstone Arsenal and became a coffee shop owner. After running the business successfully for over 12 years, Ginger decided to sell the business in Dec. of 2013 and "focus" (no pun intended) more time on her photography business 'gingerz photography', now that her children are grown and also to be
able to help her aging parents who live in Harvest. One of Ginger's favorite quotes is: "Do what you love, love what you do", and for Ginger things that she loves are spending time with her husband of 27
years and her family, taking LOTS of photographs, scrapbooking, meeting new people and being able to capture their personality, their special day or an event with her camera. She believes the basics of
lighting, composition, exposure, etc. that she learned about decades ago still apply today as she has transitioned from film photography to digital photography.

Strangers In The Box
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, and serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories,
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time,
To tell, who, what, where, and when
These faces of my heritage,
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate,
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories,
Someday to be passed away?
Take time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours,
Could be strangers in the box.
